혼자서 영어공부 - 어린왕자 원서읽기 (끊어읽기)

1. 전체읽기

전체 문장을 소리내서 5번 읽는다. 

 

"At night I want you put me under a glass globe. It is very cold where you live. In the place where I came from - "

But she interrupted herself at that point. She had come in the form of a seed. She could not have known anything of any other worlds. Embarrassed over having let herself be caught on the verge of such a naive untruth, she coughed two or three times, in order to put the little prince in the worng. 

"The screen?"

"I was just going to look for it when you spoke to me..."

Then she forced her cough a little more so that he sohuld suffer from remorse just the same.

2. 어휘암기 (어휘저축)

오늘 암기해야 하는 어휘는 반드시 오늘 암기한다. 

영어문장을 통해 어휘를 암기하면 막연하게 우리말 뜻만 암기하는 것이 아니라 문장에서 어떻게 활용되는지 알 수 있기 때문에 영작을 할 때 도움이 많이 됩니다. 

• glass globe 유리 덮개
• interrupt 방해하다, 중단하다
• form 형태, 형식
• seed 씨앗
• embarrass 당황하게 하다, 쩔쩔매게 하다
• verge 가장자기, 경계
• on the verge of ~의 직전에, ~에 직면한
• naive 순진한, 고지식한
• untruth 허위, 거짓말
• cough 기침하다
• in order to ~하기 위하여
• wrong 잘못된, 틀린
• in the wrong 잘못하여, 그릇되어
• screen 칸막이, 화면
• look for 찾다
• force 강요하다, 강제하다
• suffer 고통을 받다, 겪다
• remorse 동정, 후회, 양심의 가책

3. 끊어읽기&직독직해

암기한 어휘를 적용해서 끊어읽기 연습을 한다. 

영어문장을 읽을 때 어느 부분에서 끊어서 읽어야 하는지를 아는 것이 중요합니다. 꾸준히 영어문장을 읽는 연습을 할 때 어느 부분까지 끊어서 우리말로 바꾸는 것이 좋은지 연습을 하면 자연스럽게 영어문장이 우리말처럼 이해되는 순간이 옵니다.

4. 마무리

읽기 연습을 충분히 한 후 자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 들으면서 따라 한다. 

 

"끊어읽기&직독직해"를 통해 의미를 파악한 후에는 반복해서 영어문장을 읽는 연습을 하면 좋습니다. 영어문장을 보지 않고 입에서 술술 나올 때까지 반복해서 읽으면 영어문장이 완전히 내 것이 되고 이런 연습을 계속 하면 어느 순간 영어문장을 저절로 말하게 됩니다.
