혼자서 영어공부 - 어린왕자 원서읽기 (끊어읽기)

 

 

1. 전체읽기

전체 문장을 소리내서 5번 읽는다. 

 

So, too, she began very quickly to torment him with her vanity - which was, if the truth be known, a little difficult to deal with. One day, for instance, when she was speaking of her four thorns, she said to the little prince:

"Let the tigers come with their claws!"

"There are no tigers on my planet," the little prince objected. "And, anyway, tigers do not eat weeds."

"I am not a weed," the flower replied, sweetly. 

"Please excuse me..."

"I am not at all afraid of tigers," she went on, "but I have a horror of drafts. I suppose you wouldn't have a screen for me?"

"A horror of drafts - that is bad luck, for a plant," remarked the little prince, and added to himself, "This flower is a very complex creature..."

2. 어휘암기 (어휘저축)

오늘 암기해야 하는 어휘는 반드시 오늘 암기한다. 

영어문장을 통해 어휘를 암기하면 막연하게 우리말 뜻만 암기하는 것이 아니라 문장에서 어떻게 활용되는지 알 수 있기 때문에 영작을 할 때 도움이 많이 됩니다.

• deal with 다루다, 대처하다
• for instance 예를 들어
• thorn 가시

• complex 문제가 많은, 어려운, 복잡한

3. 끊어읽기&직독직해

암기한 어휘를 적용해서 끊어읽기 연습을 한다. 

영어문장을 읽을 때 어느 부분에서 끊어서 읽어야 하는지를 아는 것이 중요합니다. 꾸준히 영어문장을 읽는 연습을 할 때 어느 부분까지 끊어서 우리말로 바꾸는 것이 좋은지 연습을 하면 자연스럽게 영어문장이 우리말처럼 이해되는 순간이 옵니다.

4. 마무리

읽기 연습을 충분히 한 후 자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 들으면서 따라 한다. 

 

"끊어읽기&직독직해"를 통해 의미를 파악한 후에는 반복해서 영어문장을 읽는 연습을 하면 좋습니다. 영어문장을 보지 않고 입에서 술술 나올 때까지 반복해서 읽으면 영어문장이 완전히 내 것이 되고 이런 연습을 계속 하면 어느 순간 영어문장을 저절로 말하게 됩니다.
