2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Mark 6:35-38

35 And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late. 36 Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat." 37 But he answered them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?" 38 And he said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see." And when they had found out, they said, "Five, and two fish."

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• grow (grew-grown) 자라다, ~하게 되다
• disciple 제자
• desolate 황량한, 적막한
• place 장소
• hour시간
• send 보내다
• surrounding 둘러싸는, 주변의
• countryside 시골, 지방, 교외
• village 마을
• answer 대답하다
• denarii 고대 로마의 은화 단위
• worth 가치있는, ~어치
• loaf (loaves) 덩어리, 빵
• find (found-found) 찾다, 발견하다

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the hour is now late.

• And when it grew late 해가 저물어 갈 때
• his disciples came to him and said 제자들이 와서 예수님께 말했다
• This is a desolate place 이곳은 적막한 곳입니다
• and the hour is now late 시간이 이미 늦었어요

→ 때가 저물어가매 제자들이 예수께 나아와 여짜오되 이 곳은 빈 들이요 날도 저물어가니 

 

 

② Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat." 

• Send them away 그들을 보내세요
• to go into the surrounding countryside and villages 주변 촌과 마을에 가서
• and buy themselves something to eat  그들 스스로 먹을 것을 사도록

→ 무리를 보내어 두루 촌과 마을로 가서 무엇을 사 먹게 하옵소서

 

③ But he answered them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?" 

• But he answered them 그러나 예수님은 그들에게 대답하셨다
• You give them something to eat 너희가 그들에게 먹을 것을 줘라
• And they said to him 제자들이 예수님께 말했다
• Shall we go 우리가 가서
• and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread 200 데나이온어치 빵을 사서
• and give it to them to eat 그들에게 주어 먹게 할까요?

→ 대답하여 이르시되 너희가 먹을 것을 주라 하시니 여짜오되 우리가 가서 이백 데나리온의 떡을 사다가 먹이리이까

 

④ And he said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see." And when they had found out, they said, "Five, and two fish."

• And he said to them 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다
• How many loaves do you have 너희가 빵을 얼마나 가지고 있느냐?
• Go and see 가서 봐라
• And when they had found out 그들이 찾아보고
• they said, "Five, and two fish." "다섯 덩어리 빵과 물고기 두 마리가 있어요"라고 그들이 말했다

→ 이르시되 너희에게 떡 몇 개나 있는지 가서 보라 하시니 알아보고 이르되 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리가 있더이다 하거늘

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
