2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 14:19-21

19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• order 명령하다
• crowd 군중
• grass 잔디
• loaf (loaves) 덩어리, 빵
• blessing 축복, (하나님의) 은혜
• break (broke-broken) 깨다, 부수다, 쪼개다
• disciple 제자
• satisfy 만족시키다
• take up 집어 올리다
• basket 바구니
• full of ~으로 가득찬
• piece 조각
• left over 남겨진
• about 대략, ~에 대해서
• thousand 천
• besides ~외에, 게다가
• woman (women) 여자
• child (children) 아이, 어린이

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 

• Then he ordered the crowds 그 때 예수님은 사람들에게 명령했다
• to sit down on the grass 잔디 위에 앉으라고
• and taking the five loaves and the two fish  그리고 빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 들고
• he looked up to heaven 하늘을 향해 올려다 보았다
• and said a blessing 그리고 축복하셨다

• And they took up twelve baskets 그리고 그들은 열 두 바구니를 거뒀다
• full of the broken pieces left over 남은 부서진 조각으로 가득 채워진

→ 다 배불리 먹고 남은 조각을 열두 바구니에 차게 거두었으며

 

③ And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

 

• And those who ate 먹은 사람들은
• were about five thousand men 대략 오천명 정도의 남자였다
• besides women and children 여자와 어린아이들 외에

→ 먹은 사람은 여자와 어린이 외에 오천 명이나 되었더라

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
