영어성경읽기(오병이어1, Matthew-1) 마태복음 14장 15-18절, 직독직해(ESV성경)

2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 14:15-18

15 Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves." 16 But Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." 17 They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish." 18 And he said, "Bring them here to me."

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• disciple 제자
• desolate 황량한, 적막한
• place 장소
• send (sent-sent) 보내다
• crowd 군중
• village 마을
• need not ~할 필요가 없다
• loaf (loaves) 덩어리, 빵
• bring 가져오다

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves."

• Now when it was evening 저녁이 되었을 때
• the disciples came to him and said 제자들이 그에게 와서 말했다
• This is a desolate place 이곳은 적막한 곳입니다
• and the day is now over 그리고 저녁이 되었습니다
• send the crowds away 사람들을 보내세요
• to go into the villages 마을로 들어가서
• and buy food for themselves 그들을 위해 음식을 사게 하세요

→ 저녁이 되매 제자들이 나아와 이르되 이 곳은 빈 들이요 때도 이미 저물었으니 무리를 보내어 마을에 들어가 먹을 것을 사 먹게 하소서

 

 

② But Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat."

• But Jesus said 그러나 예수님이 말씀하셨다
• They need not go away 그들이 갈 필요가 없다
• you give them something to eat 너희가 그들에게 먹을 것을 줘라

→ 예수께서 이르시되 갈 것 없다 너희가 먹을 것을 주라

 

③ They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish."

• They said to him 그들이 그에게 말했다
• We have only five loaves here and two fish 우리는 단지 여기에 빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리가 있습니다

→ 제자들이 이르되 여기 우리에게 있는 것은 떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리뿐이니이다

 

④ And he said, "Bring them here to me."

• And he said 그리고 예수님이 말씀하셨다
• Bring them here to me 그것들은 여기 내게 가져와라

→ 이르시되 그것을 내게 가져오라 하시고

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

15 Now when it was evening, / the disciples came to him and said, / "This is a desolate place, / and the day is now over; / send the crowds away / to go into the villages / and buy food for themselves." / 16 But Jesus said, / "They need not go away; / you give them something to eat." / 17 They said to him, / "We have only five loaves here and two fish." / 18 And he said, / "Bring them here to me."

 

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
