2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 7:15-20

15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• beware 주의하다, 조심하다
• false 거짓의
• prophet 선지자
• sheep 양
• clothing 의류, 옷
• inwardly 내부에, 안쪽에
• ravenous 탐욕스러운, 굶주린
• wolf (wolves) 늑대
  
• recognize 인정하다, 인식하다, 알아보다
• fruit 과일
• grape 포도
• gather 모으다, 수확하다
• thornbush 가시나무덤불
• fig 무화과
• thistle 엉컹퀴
• healthy 건강한, 건강에 좋은
• bear 낳다, (열매를) 맺다
• diseased 병에 걸린
• throw (threw-thrown) 던지다
• thus 그러므로

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 

• Beware of false prophest 거짓 선자자들을 주의하라
• who come to you 너희에게 온다
• in sheep's clothing 양의 옷을 입고
• but inwardly are ravenous wolves 그러나 안에는 탐욕스러운 늑대가 있다

→ 거짓 선지자들을 삼가라 야으이 옷을 입고 너희에게 나아노나 속에는 노략질하는 이리라 

 

 

② You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

• You will recognize them 너희는 그들을 알게 될 것이다
• by their fruits 그들의 열매에 의해서
• Are grapes gathered from thornbushes 가시나무덤불에서 포도를 거두겠느냐
• or figs from thistles 또는 엉거퀴에서 무화과를 거두겠느냐

→ 그들의 열매로 그들을 알지니 가시나무에서 포도를, 또는 엉컹퀴에서 무화과를 따겠느냐

 

③ So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 

• So, every healthy tree bears good fruit 이와 같이 모든 건강한 나무가 좋은 열매를 맺는다
• but the diseased tree bears bad fruit 그러나 병에 걸린 나무는 나쁜 열매를 맺는다

→ 이와 같이 좋은 나무마다 아름다운 열매를 맺고 못된 나무가 나쁜 열매를 맺나니

 

④ A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.

• A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit 건강한 나무는 나쁜 열매를 맺을 수 없다
• nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit 또한 병에 걸린 나무가 좋은 열매를 맺을 수 없다

→ 좋은 나무가 나쁜 열매를 맺을 수 없고 못된 나무가 아름다운 열매를 맺을 수 없느니라

 

⑤ Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

• Every tree that does not bear good fruit 좋은 열매를 맺지 않는 모든 나무는 
• is cut down 잘라내서
• and thrown into the fire 불에 던저진다

→ 아름다운 열매를 맺지 아니하는 나무마다 찍혀 불에 던져지느니라

 

⑥ Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. 

• Thus you will recognize them 그러므로 너희는 그들을 알게 될 것이다
• by their fruits 그들의 열매에 의해서

→ 이러므로 그들의 열매로 그들을 알리라

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
