2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 7:7-11

7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• ask 구하다, 부탁하다, 요구하다
• seek 찾다, 구하다
• find 찾다, 발견하다
• knock 두드리다
• open 열다
• receive 받다
• bread 빵
• stone 돌
• serpent 뱀
• evil 악, 사악, 사악한
• gift 선물
• child (children) 아이(아이들)

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 

• Ask, and it will be given to you 요청하라 그러면 너에게 주어질 것이다
• seek, and you will find 찾으라 그러면 네가 발견할 것이다
• knock, and it will be opened to you 두드리라 그러면 그것이 너에게 열리게 될 것이다

→ 구하라 그리하면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그리하면 찾아낼 것이요 문을 두드리라 그리하면 너희에게 열릴 것이니

 

 

② For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 

• For everyone who asks 요청하는 모든 사람은
• receives 받는다
• and the one who seeks 그리고 찾는 사람은
• finds 발견한다
• and to the one who knocks 그리고 두드리는 사람에게
• it will be opened 그것을 열리게 될 것이다

→ 구하는 이마다 받을 것이요 찾는 이는 찾아낼 것이요 두드리는 이에게는 열릴 것이니라 

 

③ Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

• Or which one of you 너희 중에 누가 
• if his son asks him for bread 만약 그의 아들이 그에게 빵을 달라고 한다면
• will give him a stone? 그에게 돌을 주겠는가?

→ 너휘 중에 누가 아들이 떡을 달라 하는데 돌을 주며

 

④ Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 

• Or if he asks for a fish 만약 그가 물고기를 달라고 한다면
• will give him a serpent 그에게 뱀을 주겠는가?

→ 생선을 달라 하는데 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐

 

⑤ If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

• If you then 만약 너희가 
• who are evil 너희는 악하다
• know how to give good gifts  좋은 것을 주는 방법을 안다면
• to your children 너희 아이들에게
• how much more will your Father 너희 아버지는 얼마나 많이
• who is in heaven 하늘에 계신
• give good things 좋은 것을 주시겠느냐
• to those who ask him 그에게 요청하는 사람들에게

→ 너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
