2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 6:25-29

25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다.

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

• Therefore I tell you 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말한다
• do not be anxious about your life 너희의 생명에 대해 걱정하지 마라
• what you will eat 무엇을 먹을까
• what you will drink 무엇을 마실까
• nor about your body 또한 너희 몸에 대해 걱정하지 마라
• what you will put on 무엇을 입을까
• Is not life more than food 생명이 음식보다 중요하지 않느냐
• and the body ore than clothing 의복이 몸보다 중요하지 않느냐

→ 그러므로 내가 너희에게 이르노니 목숨을 위하여 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 몸을 위하여 무엇을 입을까 염려하지 말라 목숨이 음식보다 중하지 아니하며 몸이 의복보다 중하지 아니하냐

 

 

② Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

• Look at the birds of the air 공중에 있는 새들을 봐라
• they neither sow nor reap 그들은 씨를 뿌리지도 않고 거둬들이지도 않는다
• nor gather into barns 창고에 모으지도 않는다
• and yet your heavenly Father feeds them 그런데도 너희의 하늘 아버지께서 그들을 먹이신다
• Are you not of more value than they 너희는 그들보다 더 가치있지 않느냐

→ 공중의 새를 보라 심지도 않고 거두지도 않고 창고에 모아들이지도 아니하되 너희 하늘 아버지께서 기르시나니 너희는 이것들보다 귀하지 아니하냐

 

③ And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 

• And which of you by being anxious 너희 중 누가 걱정함으로 
• can add a single hour 한 시간이라도 더할 수 있느냐
• to his span of life 그의 생명에

→ 너희 중에 누가 염려함으로 그 키를 한 자라도 더할 수 있겠느냐

 

④ And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,

• And why are you anxious about clothing 그리고 너희는 왜 의복에 대해 걱정하느냐
• Consider the lilies of the field 들판에 있는 백합에 대해 생각해 봐라
• how they grow 그들이 어떻게 자라는가
• they neither toil nor spin 그것들은 수고도 하지 않고 방적도 하지 않는다

→ 또 너희가 어찌 의복을 위하여 염려하느냐 들의 백합화가 어떻게 자라는가 생가하여 보라 수고도 아니하고 길쌈도 아니하느니라

 

⑤ yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 

• yet I tell you 그러나 내가 너희에게 말한다
• even Solomon in all his glory 심지어 솔로몬도 그이 모든 영광안에서
• was not arrayed like one of these 이것들 중에 하나처럼 치장하지 못하였다

→ 그러나 내가 너희에게 말하노니 솔로몬의 모든 영광으로도 입은 것이 이 꽃 하나만 같지 못하였느니라

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
