2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

John 6:10-13

10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. 11 Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, "Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost." 13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• have 시키다, 먹다, 가지다
• grass 잔디
• place 장소
• loaf (loaves) 덩어리, 빵
• distribute 나눠주다, 분배하다
• seat 자리, 앉히다
• fill 채우다, 가득하다, 배부르게 하다, 충분, 가득
• disciple 제자
• gather up 모으다, ~을 주워 모으다
• leftover 나머지
• fragment 파편, 조각
• lose (lost-lost) 잃어버리다
• basket 바구니
• barly 보리
• leave (left-left) 남기다, 떠나

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. 

• Jesus said 예수님께서 말씀하셨다
• Have the people sit down 사람들을 앉혀라
• Now there was much grass in the place 그 곳에는 잔디가 많았다
• So the men sat down 그래서 사람들이 앉았다
• about five thousand in number 그 수가 약 오천 명 정도였다

→ 예수께서 이르시되 이 사람들로 앉게 하라 하시니 그 곳에 잔디가 많은지라 사람들이 앉으니 수가 오천 명쯤 되더라 

 

 

② Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. 

• Jesus then took the loaves 예수님이 그 때 빵을 들었다
• and when he had given thanks 예수님이 감사기도하시고
• he distributed them 그것을 나누어 주셨다
• to those who were seated 앉아 있는 사람들에게
• So also the fish 물고기도 또한 (주셨다)
• as mush as they wanted 그들이 원하는 만큼 

→ 예수께서 떡울 가져 축사하신 후에 앉아 있는 자들에게 나눠 주시고 물고기도 그렇게 그들의 원대로 주시니라

 

③ And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, "Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost." 

• And when they had eaten their fill 그리고 그들이 배불리 먹었을 때
• he told his disciples 제자들에게 말씀하셨다
• Gather up the leftove fragments 남겨진 조각을 모아라
• that nothing may be lost 아무것도 남지 않도록

→ 그들이 배부른 후에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 남은 조각을 거두고 버리는 것이 없게 하라 하시므로

 

④ So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. 

• So they gathered them up 그래서 그들이 모았다
• and fill twelve baskets with fragments 조각들로 열 두 바구니를 채웠다
• from the five barley loaves 다섯 개의 보리빵에서 
• left by those who had eaten 먹은 사람에 의해 남겨진

→ 이에 거두니 보리떡 다섯 개로 먹고 남은 조각이 열두 바구니에 찼더라

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
