2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

John 6:5-9

5 Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" 6 He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. 7 Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little." 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, 9 "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?"

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다.

• toward ~을 향하여
• so that ~하기 위하여
• answer 대답하다
• denarii 고대 로마의 은화 단위
• worth 가치있는, ~어치
• bread 빵
• enough 충분한
• each 각각

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?"

• Lifting up his eyes, then 그 때 눈을 들어
• and seeing that a large crowd was coming 많은 사람들이 오는 것을 보고
• toward him 예수님을 향해서
• Jesus said to Philip 예수님은 빌립에게 말씀하셨다
• Where are we to buy bread 우리가 어디서 빵을 살까?
• so that these people may eat 이 사람들을 먹이기 위해서

→ 예수께서 눈을 들어 큰 무리가 자기에게로 오는 것을 보시고 빌립에게 이르시되 우리가 어디서 떡을 사서 이 사람들을 먹이겠느냐 하시니

 

 

② He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

• He said this to test him 예수님은 빌립을 시험하기 위해 말씀하셨다
• for he himself knew 예수님은 스스로 알고 계셨다
• what he would do 예수님을 무엇을 하실지를

→ 이렇게 말씀하심은 친히 어떻게 하실지를 아시고 빌립을 시험하고자 하심이라

 

③ Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little." 

• Philip answered him 빌립이 예수님께 대답했다
• Two hundred denarii worth of bread 이백 데나리온 어치 빵이라도
• would not be enough 충분하지 않습니다
• for each of them to get a little 그들 각각에게 조금씩 주기 위해서

→ 빌립이 대답하되 각 사람으로 조금씩 받게 할지라도 이백 데나리온의 떡이 부족하리이다

 

④ One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him,

• One of his disciples 제자 중 한 사람
• Andrew, Simon Peter's brothe 시몬 베드로의 형제인 안드레가
• said to him 예수님께 말했다

→ 제자 중 하나 곧 시몬 베드로의 형제 안드레가 예수께 여짜오되

 

⑤ "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?"

• There is a boy here 여기 소년이 있는데
• who has five barley loaves and two fish 보리빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 가지고 있습니다
• but what are they for so many? 그러나 이렇게 많은 사람에게 얼마나 되겠습니까?

→ 여기 한 아이가 있어 보리떡 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 가지고 있나이다 그러나 그것이 이 많은 사람에게 얼마나 되겠사옵나이까

 

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
