2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 6:9-15

9 Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• pray 기도하다, 빌다
• hallow ~을 신성하게 하다, ~을 거룩한 것으로 여기다
• kingdom 왕국
• daily 일상적인, 매일의
• forgive 용서하다
• debt 빚, (종교, 도덕상의) 죄
• debtor 채무자
• lead 인도하다, 이르게 하다
• temptation 유혹
• deliver 배달하다, 구출하다, 자유롭게 하다
• evil 악, 사악, 사악한
• trespass 불법침입, (종교상의) 죄, 부정
• neither ~도 또한 아닌
• heavenly 하늘의 

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 

• Pray then like this 그러므로 이렇게 기도하라
• Our Father in heaven 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지
• hallowed be your name 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시고

→ 그러므로 너희는 이렇게 기도하라 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여기믈 받으시오며 

 

② Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 

• Your kingdom come 하나님의 나라가 오게 하시고
• your will be done 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지게 하소서
• on earth as it is in heaven 하늘에서 이룬것 같이 땅에서도

→ 나라가 임하시오며 뜻이 하늘에서 이루어진 것 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다

 

③ Give us this day our daily bread,

• Give us this day our daily bread

→ 오늘 우리에게 매일의 빵을 주세요

 

④  and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

• and forgive us our debts 그리고 우리의 죄를 용서해 주세요
• as we also have forgiven our debtors 우리가 또한 우리에게 죄 지은 사람을 용서하는 것처럼

→ 우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 자를 사하여 준 것 같이 우리 죄를 사하여 주시옵소서

 

⑤ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 

•  And lead us not into temptation 우리를 유혹에 빠지지 않게 하시고
• but deliver us from evil 우리를 악에서 구하여 주세요

→ 우리를 시험에 들게 하지 마시옵고 다만 악에서 구하시옵소서

 

⑥ For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,

• For if you forgive others their trespasses 만약 너희가 다른 사람의 죄를 용서해 준다면
• your heavenly Father will also forgive you 너희의 하늘 아버지께서도 너희를 용서하실 것이다

→ 너희가 사람의 잘못을 용서하면 너희 하늘 아버지께서도 너희 잘못을 용서하시려니와

 

⑦ but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

• but if you do not forgive others their trespasses 그러나 만약 너희가 다른 사람의 죄를 용서하지 않으면
• neither will your Father forgive your trespasses 너희 아버지도 너희의 죄를 용서하지 않으실 것이다

→ 너희가 사람의 잘못을 용서하지 아니하면 너희 아버지께서도 너희 잘못을 용서하지 아니하시리라

 

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
