뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Mark 4:3-8

3 Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. 8 And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• behold 바라보다, 보다, 주시하다
• sower 씨 뿌리는 사람

• fall (fell-fallen) 떨어지다, 넘어지다

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow.

• Listen 들어봐라
• Behold, a sower went out to sow 봐라, 씨를 뿌리는 사람이 씨를 뿌리러 나갔다

→ 들으라 씨를 뿌리는 자가 뿌리러 나가서

 

 

② And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

• And as he sowed 그가 씨를 뿌릴 때
• some seed fell along the path 어떤 것은 길을 따라 떨어졌다
• and the birds came 그래서 새들이 와서 
• and devoured it 그것을 먹어 버렸다 

→ 뿌릴새 더러는 길 가에 떨어지매 새들이 와서 먹어 버렸고

 

③ Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. 

• Other seed fell on rocky ground 다른 씨는 돌이 많은 땅에 떨어졌다
• where it did not have much soil 그곳에는 토양이 많지 않다
• and immediately it sprang up 그래서 즉시 싹이 난다
• since it had no depth of soil 토양이 깊지 않기 때문이다

→ 더러는 흙이 얕은 돌밭에 떨어지매 흙이 깊지 아니하므로 곧 싹이 나오나

 

④ And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. 

• And when the sun rose 해가 떴을 때
• it was scorched 그것이 시들었다
• and since it had no root 뿌리가 없기 때문에
• it withered away 그것이 말라 죽었다

→ 해가 돋은 후에 타서 뿌리가 없으므로 말랐고

 

⑤ Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain.

• Other seed fell among thorns 다른 씨는 가시 사이에 떨어졌다
• and the thorns grew up 가시가 자라서
• choke it 씨앗을 막아서
• and it yielded no grain 수확할 곡식이 없었다

→ 더러는 가시떨기에 떨어지매 가시가 자라 기운을 막으므로 결실하지 못하였고

 

⑥ And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold. 

• And other seeds fell into good soil 다른 씨앗들은 좋은 땅에 떨어졌다
• and produced grain 그리고 곡식을 수확했다
• growing up and increasing 자라서 늘어났다
• and yielding thirtyfold 삼십 배 수확하고 
• sixtyfold and a hundredfold 육십 배 또는 백 배를 수확했다

→ 더러는좋은 땅에 떨어지매 자라 무성하여 결실하였으니 삼십 배나 육십 배나 백 배가 되었느니라 하시고

 

 

♠ 문법노트

growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold. 

▶ 분사구문 (, ing)

문장이 끝나고 콤마(,) 뒤에 현재분사(~ing)가 오면 and(그리고)와 앞 문장의 주어를 넣어서 자연스럽게 연결하면 된다. 

→ (좋은 땅에 떨어진) 다른 씨앗들이 자라고 증가하고 삽십 배, 육십 배, 백 배를 수확했다

→ 자라 무성하여 결실하였으니 삼십 배나 육십 배나 백 배가 되었느니라

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
