2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 5:27-32

27 You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. 31 It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' 32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• lust 정욕, 욕망
• divorce 이혼 
• commit (죄, 과실 등을) 저지르다, 범하다
• adultery 부정, 간음
• look at ~을 보다
• lustful 욕망이 강한, 탐내는
• intent 의도, 의향
• right 오른쪽의
• cause 원인이 되다, 초래하다, 일으키다
• casue+목적어(A)+to do(B) A로 하여금 B하도록 하다
• sin 죄를 짓다
• tear 찢다, 잡아떼다
• thrwo 던지다
• lose 잃다
• whole 전체의
• hell 지옥
• certificate 증명서, 증서
• except ~을 제외하고
• on the ground of ~라는 까닭으로
• sexual 성적인
• immorality 부도덕

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.'

• You have heard 너희가 들었다
• that it was said 전해오는 것을
• You shall not commit adultery 너는 간음을 해서는 안 된다

→ 또 간음하지 말라 하였다는 것을 너희가 들었으나

 

② But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

• But I say to you 그러나 나는 너희에게 말한다
• that everyone who looks at a woman 여자를 바라보는 모든 사람은
• with lustful intent 욕망을 품은 의도로
• has already committed adultery with her 이미 그 여자와 간음을 한 것이다
• in his heart 마음으로

→ 나는 너희에게 이르노니 음욕을 품고 여자를 보는 자마다 마음에 이미 간음하였느니라

 

③ If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.

• If your right eye causes you to sin 만약 너의 오른눈이 너로 하여금 죄를 짓게 한다면
• tear it out and throw it away 그것을 떼어내서 던져라
• For it is better 더 낫다
• that you lose one of your members 몸의 부분 중에서 하나를 잃어버리는 것이
• than that your whole body be thrown 너의 온 몸이 던져지는 것보다 (더 낫다)
• into hell 지옥에

→ 만일 네 오른 눈이 너로 실족하게 하거든 빼어 내버리라 네 백체 중 하나가 없어지고 온 몸이 지옥에 던져지지 않는 것이 유익하며

 

④ And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. 

• And if your right hand causes you to sin 그리고 만약 너의 오른손이 너로 하여금 죄를 범하게 한다면
• cut it off and throw it away 그것을 잘라내서 던져라
• For it is better 더 낫다
• that you lose one of your members 몸의 부분 중에서 하나를 잃어버리는 것이
• than that your whole body go 너의 온 몸이 가는 것보다 (더 낫다)
• into hell 지옥에

→ 또한 만일 네 오른손이 너로 실족하게 하거든 찍어 내버리라 네 백체 중 하나가 없어지고 온 몸이 지옥에 던져지지 않는 것이 유익하니라

 

⑤ It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' 

• It was also said 또한 전해왔다
• Whoever divorces his wife 누구든지 그의 아내와 이혼하는 사람은
• let him give her a certificate of divorce 아내에게 이혼증서를 주게 하라

→ 또 일렀으되 누구든지 아내를 버리려거든 이혼 증서를 줄 것이라 하였으나

 

⑤ But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. 

• But I say to you 그러나 나는 너희에게 말한다
• that everyone who divorces his wife 그의 아내와 이혼하는 모든 사람은
• except on the ground of sexual immorality 성적 부도덕을 제외하고는
• makes her commit adultery 그녀로 간음하게 하는 것이다
• and whoever marries a divorced woman 그리고 이혼한 여자와 결혼하는 사람은 누구든지
• commits adultery 간음을 행하는 것이다

→ 나는 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 음행한 이유 없이 아내를 버리면 이는 그로 간음하게 함이요 또 누구든지 버림받은 여자에게 장가드는 자도 간음함이니라 

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
