2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Matthew 5:17-20

17 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

• abolish 폐지하다, 없애다
• law 법
• the Law 율법
• prophet 선지자
• not A but B A가 아니라 B
• fulfill 실행하다, 이루다, 완료하다
• heaven 하늘
• earth 땅
  
• pass away wlskek
• iota 소량, 조금
• dot 점
• pass from ~에서 옮겨지다
• accomplish 이루어 내다, 성취하다
• therefore 그러므로
• relax 늦추다, 완화하다
• commandment 계명, 명령
• least 가장 작은 것, 가장 작은, 가장 적은
• kingdom 왕국
• righteousness 정의, 의
• exceed 초과하다, 능가하다
• scribe 사본필사자, 서기관
• enter 들어가다

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

① Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

• Do not think 생각하지 마라
• that I have come 내가 왔다고
• to abolish the Law or the Prophets 율법이나 선지자들을 폐하기 위해
• I have not come to abolish them 폐하기 위해 온 것이 아니라
• but to fulfill them 그것들을 완성하기 위해서 (왔다)

② For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 

• For truly, I say to you 진실로 내가 말한다
• until heaven and earth pass away 하늘과 땅이 지나갈 때까지
• not aniota, not a dot will pass from the Law 아주 작은 것, 점 하나도 율법에서 떨어지지 않을 것이다
• until all is accomplished 모든 것이 이루어지기까지는

③ Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 

• Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least 그러므로 작은 것 중에 하나라도 느슨하게 하는 사람은 누구든지
• of these commandments 이 계명중에서
• and teaches others to do the same 그리고 다른사람들에게 그와 같이 하도록 가르치는 (사람은 누구든지)
• will be called least 가장 작은자라고 불리게 될 것이다
• in the kingdom of heaven 천국에서
• but whoever does them teaches them 그러나 계명을 행하고 그것을 가르치는 사람은 누구든지
• will be called great 큰 자라고 불리게 될 것이다

④ For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

• unless your rightesousness exceeds 너희의 의가 능가하지 않는다면
• that of the scribes and Pharisees 서기관과 바리새인보다
• you will never enter the kingdom of heaven 너희는 결코 천국에 들어가지 못할 것이다

 

5. 전체 문장 끊어 읽기

앞에 끊어서 읽으면서 해석한 것을 기억하며 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 읽을 때 끊어진 부분에서 아주 잠깐 쉰다고 생각하면서 읽으면 끊어진 단위대로 해석할 수 있게 됩니다.

6. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 3-5번 멈추지 않고 읽어볼 것을 권합니다.

7. 자신의 음성으로 녹음하기

영어문장을 읽는 것이 익숙해졌다면 자신의 목소리로 녹음을 한 다음 들으면서 어색한 부분을 점검해 보세요. 이 과정을 통해서 좀 더 자신 있게 영어로 말하는 연습을 할 수 있습니다. 앞에 원어민이 읽어주는 파일과 비교하면서 연습해 보세요.

 

8. 전체문장 반복해서 읽기

자신의 목소리로 녹음해서 원어민 발음과 비교해서 교정을 했다면 이제 마지막으로 무한반복 읽기에 도전하기 바랍니다. 암기한 어휘나 끊어 읽기를 적용하는 것이 아니라 영어문장 자체를 계속 읽으면서 입에서 자연스럽게 나올 수 있게 반복해 보세요.
