2. 영어문장 소리 내서 3번 읽기

뜻을 모르더라도 읽을 수 있다면 일단 3번 읽어보세요. 절대 중간에 끊지 말고 처음부터 끝까지 읽어보세요.

 

Ruth 4:9-10

9 Then Boaz said to the elders and all the people, “You are witnesses this day that I have bought from the hand of Naomi all that belonged to Elimelech and all that belonged to Chilion and to Mahlon.

10 Also Ruth the Moabite, the widow of Mahlon, I have bought to be my wife, to perpetuate the name of the dead in his inheritance, that the name of the dead may not be cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his native place. You are witnesses this day.”

 

3. 어휘 암기하기

어휘를 암기하는 것은 어휘를 저축하는 것과 같습니다. 암기한 어휘를 문장에 적용시키면 오래도록 기억할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 저축한 어휘는 어느 순간 폭발적으로 효과를 나타냅니다. 

 

• witness 목격자, 증인, 목격하다
• belong to ~에 속하다
• widow 과부
• perpetuate  영속하게 하다, 영존하게 하다
• inheritance 상속, 계승
• the dead 죽은 사람, 죽은 사람들
• cut off ~와의 관계를 끊다, 상속권을 빼앗다
• among ~사이에
• gate 문
• native 태어난, 타고난
• place 장소

 

4. 직독직해 

영어문장 끊어 읽기를 연습합니다. 영어문장과 끊어서 해석한 우리말을 읽으면서 직독직해를 연습하세요.

 

 

5. 전체 문장 다시 읽기

끊어 읽기를 하나하나 생각하는 것이 아니라 전체 내용을 머릿속에 그림을 그리며 읽어보세요. 어휘의 의미나 문법을 생각하지 말고 우리말로 어떻게 표현했는지 직독직해 내용을 생각하면서 반복해서 읽어보세요. 영어문장을 정말 많이 (지겹도록) 읽는 것이 중요합니다.
